Description 1970s Thomas SG Nikko Mail Order Guitar (MIJ) A sweet little mail order guitar from the late 70s, this Thomas SG is loosely based on it’s Gibson counterpart but features a much quirkier shape, extended pickguard and a recessed tremolo system. A super fun and unique little guitar! Proper Gibson scale length at 24.75″, the medium D profile neck is nice and chunky, bordering on a soft V carve. The original humbuckers have a wonderfully wide frequency response and respond very well to all styles of playing. They’re positioned closer together than a standard SG layout which gives them a very unique tone, especially the bridge pickup! Appears to be all original with the exception of some changed knobs and a new Switchcraft jack socket we’ve just installed. In great condition for it’s age, it’s got some serious lacquer checking throughout the body which adds to the look and vibe of the guitar. No structural cracks or breaks, it’s had a full professional setup with 10-46s and is playing nicely with a medium-low action. Comes with a gig bag!
